The key text for detailed account of 1848, Year of Revolutions, is Christopher Clark's Revolutionary Spring. A truly magisterial account

A second, recently published book, which I think is wonderful is Luka Ivan Jukic's Central Europe, sub titled The death of a civilisation and the life of an idea.

It specifically deals with 1848 in Ch 6. I shall be referring to this work in later lectures, but include it now as many of you have a special interest in this region.
