Our story this afternoon continues with the gung-ho young-ish Churchill (He is a youthful 39 when war is declared) going to war, yet it ends in......... (fill in the gap for yourselves!)


  1. Appointed to post in 1911

  2. Sets about getting The RN shipshape and ready for war: The day of the Dreadnoughts

  3. 1914 War comes in the August

  4. Churchill goes to Antwerp on the Frontline

  5. Churchill and Lord Fisher's relationship flounders

  6. All goes swimmingly until 1915 and the disaster at Gallipoli, for which Churchill takes the rap- was this fair or unfair?

  7. Resignation and off to the Frontline once more. This time to the trenches of The Western Front.
